Why Do We Need Salvation?
We’ve All Sinned
Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard. None of us can earn salvation through our own goodness.
Romans 3:23 — For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
God Offers Eternal Life
God offers us something we could never earn: eternal life through Jesus Christ. Salvation is His gift, received through faith, not something we achieve through good works.
Romans 6:23 — For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus Paid the Price. YOU DONT HAVE TO.
God’s standard is perfection, and none of us can meet it on our own. But Jesus Christ lived the sinless life we couldn’t, died for our sins, and rose again.Through faith in Him, we are made righteous before God. Not because of what we’ve done, but because of what He accomplished.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
How Do We Receive Salvation?
Salvation isn’t something you earn by being good enough, attending church, or promising never to sin again. It’s a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose again. When you place your trust in Him and what He accomplished for you, God gives you eternal life.
Acts 16:30–31 (KJV)And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
What Happens When You Believe in Jesus?
You Have Eternal Life
The moment you believe in Jesus Christ, you receive eternal life. It’s not a temporary promise or something you have to earn over time. It’s God’s gift to you, beginning the moment you believe.
John 5:24 (KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
You Are Secure in Christ.
Jesus promises that those who belong to Him will never perish. Your salvation rests on His faithfulness and His finished work, not your ability to live a perfect life. No one can snatch you out of His hand.
John 10:28–29 (KJV)And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
You Are Made Right With God
When you believe in Jesus, God declares you righteous through faith in Him. This is called justification. You’re not made right with God because you’ve stopped sinning, but because Jesus paid for your sins and His righteousness is credited to you.
Romans 5:1 (KJV)Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Salvation Is the Beginning, Not the Finish Line
Ephesians 2:10 (KJV) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
What If I Sin After I’m Saved?
Does a Christian Still Sin?
Yes. Becoming a Christian doesn’t mean we suddenly become perfect. We still struggle, make mistakes, and need God’s guidance. The difference is that our salvation rests on Jesus Christ, not on our ability to live without sin.
1 John 1:8 (KJV) — If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Can I Lose My Salvation When I Sin?
Jesus promises eternal life to those who believe in Him. If salvation depended on never sinning again, none of us could remain saved. Our security rests in Christ’s finished work and His promise, not our performance. Sin can damage our fellowship with God and others, but it does not undo the eternal life Jesus has given us.
John 10:28 (KJV) And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Does Grace Mean Sin Doesn’t Matter?
Absolutely not. Sin still has consequences and can hurt us and the people around us. God’s grace isn’t permission to live carelessly. It’s the foundation for a transformed life. We pursue obedience because we love Jesus, not because we’re trying to purchase or maintain eternal life.
Romans 6:1–2 (KJV) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Are You Ready to Trust Jesus?
You don’t have to clean up your life before coming to Jesus. You don’t have to become perfect, fix every mistake, or prove you’re worthy of His love. Jesus has already done what you could never do for yourself. He died for your sins, was buried, and rose again. Salvation is His gift, and you receive it by believing in Him.
Right now, wherever you are, you can place your trust in Jesus Christ. You don’t need a special ceremony, a particular church, or someone else’s permission. God knows your heart. The question isn’t whether you’ve been good enough. The question is whether you believe in the One who paid the price for you.
John 6:47 (KJV) — Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
A Personal Invitation to Trust Jesus
Maybe you’ve been searching for answers. Maybe you’ve been hurt by religion. Told you’re not good enough, or made to believe you have to change everything about yourself before God will accept you.
I want you to know something. Jesus didn’t come to save people who had already made themselves worthy. He came to save sinners. And that includes every one of us.
In the video below, I want to personally share what it means to believe in Jesus Christ and invite you to express that faith in prayer. The prayer itself doesn’t save you. Jesus saves you through faith in Him.
You don’t have to earn His love. You don’t have to earn eternal life. You simply need to believe in the Savior who died for your sins and rose again.
Your Salvation Is Secure
If you’ve placed your faith in Jesus Christ, I want you to understand something important. God doesn’t put you on probation. He gives you eternal life.”
Jesus said:
John 5:24 (ESV)
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”
Notice what Jesus said. You have eternal life. Not someday, if you manage to live a perfect Christian life. You have it now because you’ve believed in Him.
Your salvation rests on what Jesus accomplished, not on your ability to never stumble again.
And while salvation is a free gift, your journey with Christ is just beginning. Learning His Word, growing in faith, and following Him are part of discipleship, not requirements for earning or keeping eternal life.
You Don’t Have to Walk This Journey Alone
Maybe you’ve just placed your faith in Jesus Christ for the first time. Maybe you’ve believed for years but still have questions. Or maybe you’ve been hurt by people who were supposed to represent God’s love.
Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to figure everything out alone.
