James 2 Explained | Is Faith Without Works Dead?

Does James 2 teach that good works are required to receive or keep eternal life? What did James mean when he wrote that faith without works is dead?

In this Bible study, we examine James 2 in context and explore the difference between salvation and discipleship. Salvation is God’s free gift, received through faith in Jesus Christ, not something we earn through good works.

We also look at why James emphasizes putting our faith into action and how his teaching relates to Paul’s words in Ephesians 2:8–9.
